I'm an American and Canadian citizen very glad to be living here in Toronto, the crime rate is still WAY lower than the USA. Recently in gang related violence in LA, the cops were OUT Gunned ! Here in Canada the gun laws go a bit overboard I agree, but at least here in Canada it's not like Texas and many other states where any and everyone can have a concealed weapon on their person. To me that's a scarey situation especially in the Southern states where tempers can flare very easily. I KNOW, I LIVED THERE! ( N.C. S.C. & FLORIDA ) Picture this (not literally), it happens often: There is a Committee meeting is in session in some State legislature and they are debating legislation allowing everyone to carry concealed weapons. Some legislators are strongly in favor, saying that it will make the population safer, yet they also are Very much in favor of the metal detectors that make sure no one enters the committee chambers with a concealed weapon, because it makes them feel safer.
