I did not <intend> to imply that we should do a "bag insert". Not knowing the full meaning of "bag insert", I concede that we either don't qualify for it; or whatever assessment is appropriate.

It just seemed like a decent estimate <on the high side> for number of CDs to burn; if we should decide to do it.

My guess is that you are more enthusiastic about doing another CD than I am. Having some kind of idea of "how many to burn" is desirable; as is knowing how many of us are willing to participate in the process ( authoring, burning, labeling, et. al. )

"feeling no obligation to make a CD for everyone" is fine with me. We should acknowledge this from the start. No need to panic as we did two years ago when the supply ran out.

A memo from O'Reilly stated that booth participants who want to

Before we go too far down this path, realize that bag inserts at big
conferences are almost always reserved for sponsors and premium
exhibitors.

I highly doubt this option is actually open to us and even if it were, we
should feel no obligation to make a CD for everyone.
Sorry I've sort of disappeared from the OSCON list the last week or so.
Work's been brutal. I'm back now, FWIW.
