Evenin' pdxluggers, This is a recap for tonight's meeting for all you losers who didn't come. As far as I can tell, it was one of the best meetings in a while. Most folks stayed 'til 9 PM. We had a few new faces and a bunch of regulars, too.
Some things discussed were: - GPS systems and related devices - Linux wireless networking - Migrating a linux install from one disk to another - Cell phone & general USB support in linux - General unix usability issues - Make Magazine - pdxlug hackday details - Chinese economic trends - RecentChangesCamp and other such camps - PDXLUG's relationship to (and presence at) OSCON and FOSCON, if any - Job hunting / interviewing issues - Other things I can't remember because I wasn't talking about them - Michael's book on Linux Annoyances (congrats to the lucky winners of those three books) Particularly regarding the hackday suggestion, there was general agreement that it is a Good Idea, and most if not all people said they'd be willing to come, scheduling conflicts aside. To keep things straightforward, I'll volunteer to host the first one. As mentioned this evening, it'll likely be on a Saturday afternoon. Stay tuned for an email soon with more concrete details. -- Jonathan Daugherty http://www.parsed.org _______________________________________________ PDXLUG (a Portland Linux user group) mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlug.org/mailman/listinfo/pdxlug IRC: irc.freenode.net #pdxlug & #orlug
