Ok, built the src.rpm, and installed it. Going to try it out now.

Cyrus-Imapd via RPM is installed now.

my cyrus-imapd.log reports when I try to use imtest:

plaintext cyrus SASL(-13): user not found: checkpass failed

sasldblistusers2 shows an entry for that user. So I tried saslpasswd -c cyrus and entered same password in:

login: some-domain [127.0.0.1] cyrus plaintext

]$ imtest -m login -p 993 WARNING: no hostname supplied, assuming localhost

So, that let me login. When I tried it from an IMAP client it gave me an error regarding no mailbox. So, I am getting closer. Is there more to setting up a user for cyrus than using saslpasswd ? Do I need to create mailboxes as well? (goes back to documentation)
