Michael,

One of the biggest frustrations in IT is when
something starts or stops working for no apparent
reason.  I think I've figured out why this happens.

The magical computer gremlins that make PC's work are
growing scarce, very much like IP addresses and phone
numbers.  Apparently, your Samba gremlin has relocated
to my machine and magically fixed my problem. 
Unfortunately, without your gremlin, your machine will
not work correctly.  

I heard a rumor that a group of IT companies and Open
Source communities have started developing an
aphrodisiac for computer gremlins.  Unfortunately,
I've also heard that Microsoft and SCO claim to
already have a patent on the idea.  

Sorry.  I realize this post does absolutely nothing to
help you solve your problem!
