That makes it pretty easy. Click on the little star and pull up to "System", then over to "Configuration", then over to "Configure your Computer" and click there. You'll need the root password to get in and once your there you can click on "Software Management" and then on "Install". Once in Install select "All packages, alphabetical" then type gtkam and click on the search button. At that point gtkam should be the only item in the list (if it isn't there it's probably already installed). Mark the gtkam entry and click on the install button. There will be a couple dialogs that come up prompting for media (perhaps) and possibly a box telling you about dependencies. Once it's finished the installed you should be done with that part and can close down the Control Center. If you are using Mandrake 10 all you should need to do is plug in your camera and an Icon for gtkam should appear on your desktop as supermount will do it's thing. These instructions are valid for Mandrake 10 but might work, for the install anyway, on 9 as well. As I said before, there is always more than one right way but this is certainly easiest for someone who is not used to working at the command-line.
