Im not using a 486 but close. It's probably going on a 333 mghz. I also made sure to check that my isp will allow me to use the service ports. But it probably would be nice of me to make sure that I don't set up an open relay box. That might get my smtp port closed by my isp. hehe
Thanks again. aaron -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Robby Russell Sent: Saturday, October 30, 2004 4:17 PM To: PDXLUG, a Portland Linux user group Subject: RE: [PDXLUG] Sendmail, pop, and NOCC On Sat, 2004-10-30 at 16:18 -0700, Aaron wrote: > One question I haven't found out in reading archives it this: Would > it for any reason be a bad idea to setup all of the services on the > same box...being postfix, squirrelmail, apache, and imap? (unless it's like a < 486). ;-) One thing to consider is that your personal internet connection has the proper ports open. Some ISPs block port 25 to avoid spammers taking advantage of open relays and such. -Robby -- /*************************************** * Robby Russell | Owner.Developer.Geek * PLANET ARGON | www.planetargon.com * Portland, OR | [EMAIL PROTECTED] * 503.351.4730 | blog.planetargon.com * PHP/PostgreSQL Hosting & Development * --- Now supporting PHP5 --- ****************************************/ _______________________________________________ PDXLUG mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://pdxlug.org/mailman/listinfo/pdxlug
