So, to recap for those playing along at home:

The web server, mailing list, and infrastructure for the upcoming
hackfest have been generously donated by Robby, and are being hosted
from a system on his network (Planet Argon). If you want to contribute
to the web page, or be a list moderator, or whatever, contact him, or
join us in the IRC channel (#pdx.rb on irc.freenode.net).

Wait! I just want to clear this up. This isn't accurate (completely)

First of all, I'd like to have at least one more person step up and offer to admin the mailing list. (I doubt you'll have to do much... but as a way to spread the love of admining a list)

Lennon was the first person to step up and offer to do so. Anyone else? Come see me on IRC and I'll get you added. :-)

In regards to the website. Don't come to me to add something to the site. Come to me with server requests and if they aren't insanely I'll probably do it (just might take a day to get it done).

As stated in an email on the new list...

2. People have mentioned having access to the server. Currently, Ben and John have SSH access to the system. Subversion will be ready by mid-week so that they can John and Lennon can prep for the Hackfest. This will allow anyone who shows up to help out get a user account for svn+http. I'll let everyone there handle the user/group accounts. I can facilitate the server space, installation, and answer questions about which port to connect to for PostgreSQL and all that other fun stuff. :-) I have no intentions or desire of being the all-mighty controller of the pdxruby site. (I have enough responsibility at the moment)

I just wanted to clear up that. ;-)

I am not the web guy! (just a guy with port 80 available...who digs ruby)

Cheers,

-Robby
