As an sometimes-active "shiftie" myself, I agree that it would be great to help out Shift. I do wonder if perhaps other organizations might be more in need of a website "makeover", though -- Shift may spin their wheels a fair bit with content and calendar updates, but the basic look and functionality of the site isn't too far removed from what they seems to want/need.
The website for the Bicicyle Transportation Alliance (www.bta4bikes.org), on the other hand, is very much in need of a makeover. The current design and functionality are very pre-dot-com bubble: ugly, functional, and (from all appearances) completely statically maintained.
