It's great to see so much interest! Thanks to all who've
volunteered. It looks like we have plenty of potential
presentations. In order they were presented here on the list:
- Darrin Eden on bumpr.com, "a free service storing track logs from
your GPS device and rendering those track logs as time-based Google
Maps for you to share"
- Ben Bleything talking about "a couple of ideas"
- maybe someone doing "a brain dump on blocks and Procs" (for Chris
Anderson et al.)
- Aaron Huslage leading a talk about possible projects the group
could do
- Phil Tomson "could present a few tips & tricks (use class instance
vars instead of @@ vars, how to mixin class methods to a class,
automatically initializing module code)"
- Topher Cyll possibly presenting something to be determined
- Jeremy Voorhis on Globalize "a plugin that brings i18n support to
ActiveRecord and ActionView"
Assuming that folks will want to show something on a screen, I've put
in a request to Martin at Freegeek for a projector. However, knowing
the, uh, "interesting" gear that Freegeek sometimes has, I wonder
whether anyone else has a projector that could be procured by
tomorrow evening?
