I just moved up here about a month ago, and recently got a job in the
area doing perl and SQL. I lived up here years ago, but I haven't
kept in contact with anyone that still lives here that could answer
these questions. I'm hoping that some of you might have some answers
here.
I'm moving a colocation from southern oregon (medford/ashland) and am
looking for recommendations. If anyone can make recommendations that
meet these criteria, It would be most gracious, as reputation is
everything when dealing with these types of things. Price is not as
much of a concern as these things.
1) Serial Console / Some other form of offline console
2) Reasonable hands-on physical access times (notably after work
hours & weekends)
3) Very flexible service rules (I need to run an ircd and a few other
things that some places will not take)
4) Remote reboot
5) Competent staff. This is my largest concern.
I'm not interested in a hosting/VPS company that can handle this. I
have my own hardware.
Otherwise, now that I'm heading to portland every day (commuting from
salem right now but moving up there soon), I hope to see you guys at
the next pdx.rb meeting.
