Erik, It's unclear what might be causing the connections to your backend server to fail, but you might try running an actual reverse proxy as an alternate means of forwarding connections. I've been experimenting with load-balancing Rails and PHP apps behind OpenBSD systems using Lighttpd as a proxy server running on the BSD boxes, and it's proven to be pretty easy to set up.
It also allows proxying and load-balancing of SSL-protected traffic, since the hostname associated with the certificate can simply be that of the BSD firewall/proxy system. -Lennon _______________________________________________ PDXRuby mailing list [email protected] IRC: #pdx.rb on irc.freenode.net http://lists.pdxruby.org/mailman/listinfo/pdxruby
