Well, it sounds like quite a few of you are interested. I guess at this point we need to figure out a way to handle who gets to review what. Currently, Manning only supplies one book at a time, but O'Reilly seems to be more generous in this regard, though I don't know what there "soft" limit might be. They do distribute a lot of books, including, of course, the PragProg books, so there's a few things to choose from.

I've taken the liberty of already requesting a couple books that I'm sure will be on the top of most people's lists: Rails Recipes through O'Reilly and Ruby for Rails through Manning. I can request others from O'Reilly, but I'd rather not push things until we really have a way of deciding who gets to review these things. However, since both of these are newly printed, they may take a while to ship (they both mention up to 4 weeks even for their normal shipments). If people want, I can go ahead and request another book or two from O'Reilly. I'm waiting on an answer to an email I sent to them inquiring about some of these things.

Also, this should probably go in a seperate thread, but there are various offers to get free books from them. For instance, they both regularly offer free books for placement of banners on our site. I know this (advertisements on our site) might be a bit controversial, but I would think it would be a lot of fun to get these and have monthly giveaways. However, I'm not sure what it would even take to get the banners up there.

Thomas
