Thanks Ben.. OK, here's my site: http://urbandrinks.com
It's basically yet another Google Maps mashup that shows happy hours in Portland (some day we might expand to other cities if all goes well). It turns out that while I was developing this, a couple of other sites launched or came to my attention that do something similar (in PHP!!), so it's not like this is a unique idea or anything. However, what I think makes it better than the other sites is that it's focused on the time ranges during which the happy hours occur, not just whether the place has a happy hour. This lets the user see what's going on right now or during any other time period, day, etc. (note that I've yet to add some menus to search and filter the results). I'm also trying to make it work well on handheld devices, but I haven't gotten too far on that front yet. We only have downtown, pearl, and nw districts right now, but are actively working on getting data for old town and east Portland. It's also very much in beta, so there could be some bugs. Some features (among many) I plan to add soon: - Create your own pub crawl - Rate/review bars and/or happy hours - Tags - Search/filter results by happy hour type, time, etc. I'd love to hear some feedback, positive or negative.. Regards, Bryan p.s. if anyone knows how I can fix an IE bug where any bars listed below the bottom edge of the map get covered up until you resize the window (such as on this page: http://www.urbandrinks.com/main/usa/or/portland/downtown/mon), please let me know... I think it might be the so-called "peekaboo" bug, but I'm having trouble fixing it.. On 10/9/06, Ben Bleything <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

Maybe we should add fields to the cat herder to allow people to list apps they've written/worked on, then build a list on our homepage... I think it'd be fine to announce your app... who knows what other people will think though :) Ben _______________________________________________ PDXRuby mailing list [email protected] IRC: #pdx.rb on irc.freenode.net http://lists.pdxruby.org/mailman/listinfo/pdxruby
