application? Want to create simple, elegant, and robust engineering
solutions?
Transilient Media is building a software platform to apply collective
intelligence to media selection via patent-pending processes. We are
looking for two passionate, motivated developers to join our team in
Beaverton, Oregon.
1. Senior Ruby-on-Rails Web Application Developer
- Ruby: 2+ years. Comfortable with Ruby meta-programming and Ruby
DSL development.
- Rails: 9+ months. Understand substantial portions of Rails source
code. Big plus: have contributed to Rails core and/or plug-ins.
- Web Application development: 5+ years.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and/or Oracle; familiar with abstraction
leakage issues between OOP and Relational data modeling.
- Javascript, XHTML, CSS.
- Un*x development environment.
- Experience with scaling web applications.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, such as: test/behavior driven
development, refactoring, pair programming, continuous integration.
- Have deployed at least one working Rails application.
2. Junior Ruby-on-Rails Web Application Developer
- Ruby: 6+ months.
- Rails: 3+ months.
- Experience with database-backed web application development.
- Javascript, XHTML, CSS.
- Un*x development environment.
- Have deployed at least one working Rails application.
Other pluses: experience with UI design, domain modeling, team
development; foundation in statistics; prior start-up experience.
While we are flexible about the above requirements, you must be ready
to be productive with RoR from day one. More important than any
particular bullet point is your creative intelligence, drive, and range
of experience.
