Hi Jeff,
Well so much for my suggestion. I was wondering if their papers on the query
system were similar to their other documentation, USELESS! Do we really need a printed
manual that does nothing more than repeat the useless help system with explanations of
the command titles and nothing explaining their use or in-depth function? I think not.
I haven't tried DXP but their sales and support people were sure fast to point
out these papers and reference guides back when they were hounding me to switch.
Sincerely,

Hi Brad.
Yes I retrieved and read about 20 different PDFs including several on the
query language. I have programmed for over 20 years and understand the
concepts easily enough, but there are some fine nuances when trying to apply
this to practical everyday problems. I found the tutorial examples to come
up short in providing a good detailed understanding of special details to
consider as applicable to common everyday global changes. I could follow
the examples, but still had a hard time creating my own such that they
worked first time. Sure, I could figure them out by repeated iterations,
but its too easy to make mincemeat of a real design in the process. My
feeling at the time was that if I could see some applicable examples with
something akin to inline comments explaining why it was done the way it was,
it would be a lot more readily assimilated.
