I think you might find that although Altium will cease support (in real
terms they stopped support / bug fixes a long time ago) the VAR's will
probably still be happy to support you although Altium offices may not
support them directly.

After all, 99SE users are still potential DXP customers (conversion
market) of a relatively large size and I would guess any smart marketing
guy would not want to p### them off too much. 

I still remember the backlash from ATS which in effect was an attempt to
cease support unless you paid for it. 

Altium would not be as crazy to cut ties completely with their 99SE user
base.

The DXP product still has a long way to go to meet the immediate
expectations of 99SE users due to the over complex UI and loss of
document control. A forced change at this time would not be a smart hand
to bluff on.
