Yeah, I got my Altium support termination notice last Friday. I don't think I ever actually used Altium support in the entire time I have used 99SE (several years now). Patience, tips from this forum, and the occasional service pack have been enough for me. Now that SP6 is the end of the line, I think the remaining bugs/quirks are well known, and the workarounds for them as well.
I am not opposed in principle to upgrading software. But I have to have good reasons to do so. And I haven't seen enough good reasons to upgrade to DXP yet. IIRC, quite a while back, there was some discussion about starting a website with Protel tips, tricks, and resources. Stuff such as downloadable footprints in different version formats (3.x, 98, 99se), add-in servers, etc.. AFAIK it never happened. If I'm wrong, somebody send me a link to it. If I'm right, this might be a good time to start such a website. If there is renewed interest in this, lets start a discussion thread over on the Off-Topic Forum. I'll see you there... I am sure that this will not make most of us, or at least me, jump to Protel 2004 until it has been improved with service packs ( I hope). > > My regards, > Steve Smith, C.I.D. > Product Engineer > > Staco Energy Products Co. > 301 Gaddis Boulevard. > Dayton, OH 45403 > Telephone: (937) 253-1191 Ext. 158 > Fax: (937) 253-1723 > E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Web Site: www.stacoenergy.com > & www.stacopower.com > > > ____________________________________________________________ > You are subscribed to the PEDA discussion forum > > To Post messages: > mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Unsubscribe and Other Options: > http://techservinc.com/mailman/listinfo/peda_techservinc.com > > Browse or Search Old Archives (2001-2004): > http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] > > Browse or Search Current Archives (2004-Current): > http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] > ____________________________________________________________ You are subscribed to the PEDA discussion forum To Post messages: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe and Other Options: http://techservinc.com/mailman/listinfo/peda_techservinc.com Browse or Search Old Archives (2001-2004): http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] Browse or Search Current Archives (2004-Current): http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]
