Same here.  DDB works OK for us so far.  I suppose that very large designs
may break DDB reliability, but we haven't had one that big yet.  If any
designs get above 2GB in file size, they will exceed the limits of the
32-bit OS anyway.  That's gotta be one complicated board!

One thing I don't like about the DDB is that even if you just view the
contents of the DDB, without making any changes, Protel 99se still "touches"
the file creation date.  So you either cannot rely on the file date to know
when a design was done, or you must set the "read-only" file attribute so
that Protel won't "touch" it.  You can still open the DDB for viewing, but
Protel will pop up a dialog saying "the file is read-only, do you want to
continue?  To which you click yes if you want to open it for viewing, but
not editing.

I think I'll wait for the Linux version :-)

99se on W2K works fine for us.  It's just that we are trying to scope out a
future with less dependence on MS.  As are many folks these days.
