GerbTool v14 has just been released. This is a VERY powerful tool that
easily copes with CAM350/GC-CAM/Valor etc. but at a much lower price.

Dale

Cam350 still has an unfriendly and clunky interface but if you take it
with the CAD importers it will serve you well.

Many of our fabricators use Cam350/GC-CAM or Valor, never came across
Gerbtool at any fabs.

But I do see Gerbtool being packaged as a bundle with some EDA vendors
tools so they seem to have some partner agreements in place.

If you are Auto Importing Protel gerbers to Cam350 you need to watch out
for the NC drill import, sometimes you need to specify the nnn.nnn
format correctly if using 4.4 in metric as it will not detect the files
correctly and you end up with copper layers the correct size and a drill
file with same origin but scaled > 5X! Just a small quirk.

Any reason Camtastic is no good for checking Gerbers now that it can
correctly check net antennas? Our paste screen manufacturer loves
Camtastic 99! Won't use anything else.
