Personally, I would not, at least not on a single proc computer, (and
likely not on a dual-proc system either, though I have tried it for
curiosity's sake...but that means little or nothing to many corporate
MIS departments. They run scans whenever it is convenient for them to do
so, unless management stops them from doing so. My place of work has no
such management, and we also do not have a 24 hour "on" policy, nor 24
hour staffing, so after hours scanning isn't a viable option, and MIS
scans on its own schedule... 

But when it comes down to apples vs apples, AVG, Norton, McAfee, and
most other AV software, when run in continuous mode (scan all accessed
files, scan entire hard drive daily, etc.) all result in memory and
processor overload, and, due to the hard drive excesses...um, I mean
accesses, virtual swap-file operation, causing systems operating in this
mode (regardless of the AV product) to crawl instead of fly.
