I'm not talking about a mistake, but where you need to make
a change, and then maybe have a look before tweaking some more.
Even something as basic as choosing a designator text size.

You know the number of steps it takes in 99, in AD, type
IsDes (auto complete will change it to 'IsDesignator' in
the filter panel, then just change the height in the
inspector, maybe the line width and even the font, only
you get to see each change graphically and can still change
it again.

I have found many other times where this helps also, I don't
recall them off the top of my head.

Yep, that is true.

I don't look at the keyboard to type, and have used the hotkeys
with Protel since the first time I used it, back in 1986. Pity
the AT keyboards moved the function keys yo the top, they worked
much better on the left with the XT keyboard, even if they only
had 10.

Yep, I used large fonts for years, 99 has some small large font
issues but I could put up with them. I have had a few other
programs that also didn't work very well with larger fonts also
About 2 years ago I changed to small fonts, and then changed the
font size by about 20% in the display Properties, Appearance tab
to all the fonts, and some other settings in Outlook.

I'm glad this is not an issue for me, it used to drive me nuts.
My current setup is two 1920 x 1200 23" LCD's. (HP2335)

Yes that's right. But I can also do things that I just couldn't do in 99
and that saves me a lot of time too.

I think it was SP2 that was much faster, this was the turning point
for me. Up till then I was using 99 for my day to day work.

For me, I didn't really get the benefits until I started to use
it full time. Just trying it every so often is a waste of time
as you find yourself thinking in 99 mode, and that just doesn't
work.

I expect that updates could come as often as every few weeks, you
choose when it checks, then it lists the changes that have been
made. Then you choose to download it, and were it goes. It then
installs like any other SP has. If there is a problem you can
still remove the patch.

Regards,
Darren
