In Protel 99SE SP6 is it possible to define an arc or trace so that there is
no solder mask on the trace.

I understand that with pads you can override the Solder Mask (in the
"Advanced" tab in the Properties dialogue) but can you do that with regular
traces, specifically arcs?
To eliminate the solder mask over a trace do I simply draw a line on the
solder mask layer overtop of the trace?

Let me attempt to describe the application.
I am making a keypad. Metal keypad domes will be used. The footprint for
the dome looks like a doughnut (an arc) surrounding a circular pad. When a
key is pressed, the dome will come down making an electrical connection
between the circular arc around the edges of the dome and the circular pad
in the center.

The Solder Mask layer is a negative layer correct (it assumes solder mask
everywhere and only removes solder mask if something is drawn there). So do
I just need to draw an arc on the solder mask layer over my arc?

Is this possible in Protel?
