List,

I too agree with Mary's arguments, which just yesterday I offered a version
of off List to a forum member who prefers a rapid-fire approach to posting
and responding to posts. So the one post per thread requirement will
continue.

And while the founder of Peirce-L, Joseph Ransdell, was opposed to setting
a limit on Peirce-L posts, I would tend to agree with Miguel that some
lengthier discussions might be taken off List with significant findings --
should there be any -- published later. This would also allow for a more
rapid exchange of comments with no limits set on the number of posts of
course. But this is merely a suggestion; and while I find extremely long
posts problematic for a number of reasons, there will continue to be no
limit on the length of posts to the forum.

Best,

Gary Richmond (writing as Peirce-L moderator)
