List, I too agree with Mary's arguments, which just yesterday I offered a version of off List to a forum member who prefers a rapid-fire approach to posting and responding to posts. So the one post per thread requirement will continue.
And while the founder of Peirce-L, Joseph Ransdell, was opposed to setting a limit on Peirce-L posts, I would tend to agree with Miguel that some lengthier discussions might be taken off List with significant findings -- should there be any -- published later. This would also allow for a more rapid exchange of comments with no limits set on the number of posts of course. But this is merely a suggestion; and while I find extremely long posts problematic for a number of reasons, there will continue to be no limit on the length of posts to the forum.
