It appears to be Google Gmail and others tightening their filters in order to
fight spam. Some of the peirce-l recipient accounts bouncing back peirce-l
messages were Gmail accounts, some were not.
When I modified the peirce-l message template footer to include a clickable
mailto unsubscribe option, the problem seemed to mostly go away. Google
prefers a one-click option, and demands a one-click option for accounts that
sent at least 5,000 messages a day.
After my fix seemed to work, now it's started happening to various senders. All
the current bouncing recipient accounts are Gmail. 25 accounts bounce at a time.
It's hot & humid, I'm distracted with other things, and I don't think I'll get
much done today.
Remember that Google Gmail has been _increasing_ its restrictions, Here's what

*AI Overview*
Yes, listservs may be bouncing more emails with Gmail recipients due to
increased spam filtering by Gmail and other major providers. This is because

There is nothing 'automatic' (machine generated) stopping posting on the List.
If a List member exceeds the posting limit I send them an off List message
noting that. So far those who have been sent such a message have responded
affably.
However, Ben has noticed some posts bouncing from accounts which didn't bounce
before and has been looking into that.
But be assured that neither he nor I nor some mechanism -- at least not one
under our control -- is keeping messages from appearing on the List.
