Es geht doch nicht darum Dinge zu glauben, weil sie alt sind, es geht darum aus 
der Etymologie eines Wortes etwas über seine heutige Bedeutung zu lernen. 

Der Zimmermannswinkel ist interessant, da er auf die handwerkliche Ebene von 
Wissenschaft und die Bedeutung handlungsnormierender Einübung von Techniken 
verweist. Früher wurde bei handwerklichen Tätigkeiten oder auch bei der 
Feldarbeit gesungen, um ein gemeinsames Maß zu finden, um die Arbeit zu 
koordinieren. Man muss bei Wissenschaft immer auch das Handwerk mit einbeziehen 
und nicht nur das Mundwerk.

Wenn die Wahrheit eines Schlusses, wie es Peirce animmt, in den Bedinungen der 
Erfahrungen liegt, die zu einem Schluß führen, dann ist Wissenschaft ganz 
bestimmt normativ: A) da es für die empirische Wiederholbarkeit der Prämissen 
eines Schlusses eine Handlungsanleitung d.h. ein Rezept gibt und B) da es 
Regeln zur Unterscheidung von guten und schlechten Schlüssen gibt. Normen sind 
Regeln. Wissenschaft ist voll von Regeln: Tue a, b und c und die Handlungsfolge 
x wird sich einstellen. Was unterscheidet einen guten von einem schlechten 
Schluss?

Sokrates war ein Mensch.
Sokrates war sterblich.
Alle Menschen sind Sokrates.

So sollte man wohl nicht schließen ;) Schau dir die Erläuterungen zu Peirce 
Existentiellen Graphen an - alles Regeln.
