Again, I find this dogmatic statement to be a personal claim that is without general scientific meaning. This statement is simply out of touch with current state of inquiry into the nature of logic. Chemical logic, the bedrock of pragmaticism, makes the binary distinction between a chemical object (that is, any material object composed from atoms, sin-signs) and the descriptive terms that describe the object, e.g., quali-signs. More importantly for the study of pragmatism, the science of chemistry, the bedrock science, makes a distinction between two grammatical forms of verbs, copula (original meaning, to yoke together) and predicate (to pre-say), attributes/properties. Consider two sentences relating to chemistry: Hydrogen and Oxygen form water. (two sin-signs combine to form a third sin-sign, two nouns are composed to form a third noun.) Mercury is a liquid. Indeed, CSP wrote several papers on the logic of copula. Cheers Jerry
