I once have guessed, that there are three kinds, not two, of systems hierarchy: Composition (1ns), power (2ns), and classification (3ns). Maybe determination is this 2ns-thing, I had called power. The "missing link" between the object and the interpretant (Jon A.S. contradicts me about this) I thought provides time, as it only comes into being in a next sign, when the former interpretant is a sign and refers to the same object.
