Seagull Voyage Planning Software at NORSHIPPING 2005
(7 June, 2005)Seagull will be present at Norshipping 2005 and will be presenting their new software on voyage planning.
Seagull has completed a new software program covering the need for any vessel and navigator to complete a comprehensive voyage plan according to charter requirements.
Seagull representative will be present at the MARIS stand (C04-22) and will be pleased to give a demonstration.
The background for Seagull to develop "voyage planning" software is that through developing CBT program on how to perform and document a proper voyage plan, Seagull has over several years realized that many shipping companies do not have any standardized voyage planning software in use. The home made excel spreadsheets and other manual solutions are the dominate systems.
The Voyage Planning software has been developed in close cooperation with an ECDIS manufacture named 'MARIS'. The software provides the ability to interface information from ECDIS, weather routing, port information, etc. The software can easily be upgraded to a fully licensed ECDIS through cooperation with the ECDIS manufacture Maris. Features includes;
- Complete voyage planning with templates for adding all required information
- Print / Reports
- Export/Import enabling exchange of voyage planes between vessel and shore
- Link to weather routing
- Tidal information
- GPS interface
- Easy upgrade to ECDIS
The pricing of the voyage planning software is following the same pricing structure as other CBT modules from Seagull. That means a very low annually software license for each vessels and that includes free of charge future updates
