The salary offered will be only informed once the candidate comes for interview. *The following is the criteria: * Main Purpose: To provide leadership and management of competency based training for all marine staff employed. Duties and Responsibilities Core Accountabilities Strategy and Plans To support Managers in the delivery of high quality training for marine staff of all departments serving on board various ship types including leisure vessels. To conduct regular assessments of marine personnel across all operational areas, monitoring and taking action to ensure training and competence standards are set and maintained, including submitting accurate and timely reports to the Managers. To ensure the professional services offered by managers are recognised in industry so as to provide a great reference for managers in order that we may market our capability effectively. Growth and Financials To provide relevant training and personnel development expertise to Directors and Managers in support of organic growth with existing customers and new marine related business bids. To ensure own actions and/or advice supports all areas of the contract for effective financial management, and that all training costs are agreed prior to delivery and cost evaluated to the correct area of the contract. Customers and Markets To develop and maintain a network of internal and external relationships with training and certification regulators, recognised marine training organisations and partners in order to anticipate and meet future marine operational needs. To support service excellence and a continuous improvement culture, so that marine businesses remain at the leading edge of industry service delivery and value. To ensure the customer receives a great service, at great value. Organisation and People To provide indirect leadership by being a role model such that all employees understand and adopt the highest marine standards of competence and ability and are motivated to achieve their objectives. To ensure that the best practice framework is in place and to deliver agreed training programmes. To advise on processes, procedures and systems which are aligned to those in place within the Marine Industry and meeting regulation requirements as appropriate. To ensure that all activities comply with health, safety and other legal requirements upon the business. To periodically review, audit and report marine training programmes. Skills and Attributes Sees trends in data or series of events. Connects current activities to future business plans. Is able to put themselves in the position of others and understand the art of compromise. Drives delivery of tactical, operational objectives and business activities. Injects significant change into how things are done. Keen to develop new approaches in the light of changing business circumstances. Knowledge and Experience Professional mariner with recognised marine training experience and qualification. Master STCW III/2 or above with relevant additional vocational qualifications IT Literate. Willing to consider Chief engineer, Chief officer & 2ndengineer rank candidates. Experience of operating successfully within both MoD and Commercial environments would be advantage. Any previous training background will be advantage but not a pre-requiste. Leadership/Management and soft skills.
