The Department of Economics at the University of Manitoba invites
applications for a full-time tenure track appointment at the rank of
Assistant Professor in economic theory. The appointment will begin on
July 1, 2001, or soon thereafter, subject to final budgetary approval. The
successful candidate must have a PhD by the time of appointment to the
rank of Assistant Professor; candidates whose doctoral dissertation will
be completed shortly after July 1, 2001 may be appointed at the rank of
Lecturer until the PhD is completed. Duties will include undergraduate
and graduate teaching and examination in the core components of the
departmental program, graduate supervision, research, and service-
related activities. The salary will be commensurate with experience and
