I don't understand the WH as target theory
for the plane that hit the Pentagon. Apparently
the plane was headed for the WH and turned to
hit the Pentagon. I don't understand that either.
But so far nobody disputes that the PA plane was
headed straight for D.C. Why would a president
with any semblance of his right mind head for
the WH?
No, I don't secretly work for the P. I'm
as safe as anyone can be, in light of the fact
that I work about six blocks from the premier
terrorist target in the U.S., and as David S.
has indicated, fairly well-financed terrorists
evidently have no concern about who they kill
or how they do it.
A friend of mine who worked at the P. was on
the Dulles plane. Last year -- I think --
when there was a minor budget flap about
the costs of retaining skilled armed
services recruits, he pointed me to some
information debunking claims that this
would require a bunch of new DoD money.
His existence defies much of what many
people here think they know about military
personnel.

I agree it would likely have been stupid for the Prez to fly back to the
White House. But there have been criticisms, among the media. Given other
evidence (about the Pentagon dive-bombing), it looks as if the WH-as-target
theory was cooked up to deflect those criticisms. I don't think the WH has
presented any evidence for their theory.
Max, there's a rumor that you secretly work at (and for) the Pentagon. Is
this true? Were you safe?
