Not sure if you mean this to be your claim or the claim of those who want to represent the Democrats in this light, but I think this is far from the truth. If Thomas Ferguson's models are correct, and I happen to think they are spot-on, the Democrats represent a different slice of corporate America, not "the long-term collective capitalist interest". This slice may be more internationalist in nature and therefore more willing to work within international institutions, but no more explicitly devoted to "the long-term collective capitalist interest" than any other group. And as to crony profits, the Democrats are no slouches at passing out pork. Bill
