...the NYT editorially has endorsed Frau Clinton and still stands
by that
endorsement.

NYT columnists are by definition independent voices. Rich and Dowd
were accurate observers (and therefore vituperators) of the Clintons
before any of us had heard of Barack Obama. Gail Collins (pro-Clinton)
had to give up her column when she joined the editorial board and had
to leave the editorial board when she resumed her column.
