I am with Julio all the way. Take the number of people who say in the
polls "I'll never vote for Obama because he doesn't share my values"
in the context of Rev. Wright. The way I see it, these people would
never have voted for Obama anyway and they were merely looking for an
excuse. From my casual observation, it does seem like race matters a
whole lot more than gender. For the symbolic value alone, I hope Obama
does win in November. It is lucky that he has such a mediocre
opponent. I hope he can at least count on the miniscule PEN-L
constituency.
