On purely symbolic grounds, I'll (probably) vote for Obama. But no-one should be fooled: unless the balance of economic and political power changes significantly, BHO won't change much. Like G.H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, he'll likely rationalize (clean up the rough edges) of domestic neoliberalism. (The neoliberal policy revolution, it seems, goes in forward spurts (Reagan, Dubya), each followed by rationalizations.) On foreign policy, BHO will likely shift away from Dubya's unilateralism to a more multilateral -- but still imperialist -- line.
