Brenner adopted Dobb's basic thesis but dropped the part about
colonialism.

CB: When we debate this here, some of us put Dobb's colonialism part
back in. In fact, in the debate here, the main issue is that Brenner
doesn't give colonialism the weight that Marx gives it in _Capital_ in
his discussion of the origin of capitalism.
