why not argue that it's not based on a false premise? then I might
look for time to read it. I don't do history of economic ideas, so
there's no other reason besides your recommendation for me to read it.

if it's based on a false premise, then citing it is simply an appeal
to authority: just because a Great Man said it, we have more evidence
in favor of your program.
