The concept of "altruism" (a word coined by the positivist & radical
individualist Comte) ist itself an ideological concept, another way of
expresdsing Margaret Thatcher's "Society does not exist, only
individuals and families." That is, if you consider the world to be made
up of isolated -- abstract -- individuals then you have a problem of
explaining how social relations dome into existence and are maintained.
"Altruism" is one of the pseudo-principles that is invented to solve
this insoluable problem.
