Specially when backed up by facts. But you tell me -- What would your neighbors rather have: a union or a job? I'm not going to fetch the data myself, but -- if in doubt -- diligently compare the employment record of Clinton's 8 years versus W's 8 years. Or Carter and Clinton's 12 years versus the Bushes' 12 years. Or Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, and Clinton's 25 years versus Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and Bushes' 29 years. By far, DP's administrations are associated with employment growth rates well above the growth rate of the population and GOP administrations with significantly lower rates, at best hovering around the growth rate of the population. And that's without counting 2008! Correlation is not causation but too much coincidence makes people wonder. All in all, I'm still unpersuaded that support for Democratic presidential candidates by the unions has been a stupid waste of their resources. _______________________________________________ pen-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.csuchico.edu/mailman/listinfo/pen-l
