Patrick Bond: Here's a recent argument against this kind of hubris, comrade

A Dangerous Period
End of Neoliberalism? Sorry, Not Yet
By PATRICK BOND

Those who declare that the Great Crash of Late 2008 heralds the end of free
market economic philosophy - "neoliberalism" for short - are not paying close
enough attention.

CB: What you should say is that it demonstrates irrefutably that the US system
is in fact _not_ a free market system, but rather a monopoly system. That's
the first important conclusion that left economists should draw from these
events. The free market "worldly philosophers" have been exposed as wearing no
clothes. It doesn't matter what the bourgeois economist _say_, philosophize.
The bourgeois economy is not "doing" free market.
