Carrol's low-temperature note was very interesting, comparing labor to prostitution rather than comparing prostitution to labor. Even our language hints at degradation in capital-labor relations: capital gives jobs, while humble workers must take jobs.
There are differences of course. Prostitutes face coercion that other workers never experience. Because prostitution is illegal, sex workers do not have access to legal protections available to many other workers. -- Michael Perelman Economics Department California State University Chico, CA 95929 Tel. 530-898-5321 E-Mail michael at ecst.csuchico.edu michaelperelman.wordpress.com _______________________________________________ pen-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.csuchico.edu/mailman/listinfo/pen-l
