For those interested in the fascinating and politically charged
dispute over the level of Venezuelan oil production. Interesting
history of PDVSA's relationship to OPEC, "secondary sources" of
information about oil production levels, and the Venezuelan state. The
author concludes that Venezuela is telling the truth about its oil
exports, and the International Energy Agency is lying. A Dow Jones
reporter once told me pretty much the same thing, but expressed
puzzlement as to why this was the case. This article explains it.
