Louis is spot on in his implicit assumption that the perfect alternative to capitalism can only be found in the realm of ideological fantasy, something that requires at most a modicum of chemical neural stimulation. It's only if or when we are forced to locate the real-world, imperfect alternative to capitalism in the *existing social conditions* -- to then build from such -- that we turn to unions, cooperatives, and other not-very-sexy instruments of collective workers' action as they are. _______________________________________________ pen-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.csuchico.edu/mailman/listinfo/pen-l
