His basic problem is that this does not work in a period of deep crisis. And let's face it, comrades, this is a time when Mark Jones's bet with Max would be a lot more timely than when it was made. This kind of narrow technocratic, centrist approach "worked" for Clinton because the US economy was a lot healthier than it is today.
