Well, you and I have a different world-view on these matters, that's
been obvious for some time.

I wrote this piece to publicize a significant development in U.S.
policy, which most people are likely to be unaware of, because they
don't follow these issues as closely as I do, still less are they
likely to understand the potential significance of the change.

One of the most controversial aspects of U.S. policy in the region has
been the blockade of Gaza. The blockade of Gaza is part of a political
policy of isolating Hamas, also a controversial policy, although not
as controversial, simply because its harmful effects are not so
obvious.

These policies are likely to come under increased challenge as a
result of the U.S. shift on the question of the role of the Muslim
Brotherhood in Egypt. That is a significant development.
