The election of a black man triggered the appearance of the TP. But 
perhaps the primary political fact in the U.S. today is the identity of 
Arbs/Islamists (brown) with Latinos (brown). A very raw and overt racism 
such as we have not seen for a long time, is emerging. The 
criminalization of the undocumented shows that politicians at all levels 
are actively exploiting this 'new' racism. Obama (the INS under his 
Administration) has so far deported a bit over 1 million U.S. residents, 
at an average of 11 thousand a day. Defensive arguments (such as the 
classical "Some of My Best Friends are Jews") which cite 'love' or 
toleration or whatever with particular individuals of the hated tgroup 
are themselves one of themost glaring signs of racism. I don't see, 
really, why people bother to answer D.S.
