IMO, bourgeois and non-bourgeois are pretty operative categories.  But
let me agree wholeheartedly with your essential point:  There are
different ways for economists to be bourgeois economists, and the how
is very important.  Sims is no Stiglitz, but he's no Prescott either.
One of the things I've been insisting on for years is that we need to
get over the moral repulsion these people elicit from us and deal with
their work.  So, making the distinction you make is a step in the
right direction.
