Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s alleged sex life has him back in the headlines.

The former IMF chief is asking to speak to French police to squash

reports that he was involved with an alleged prostitution ring in

France and Belgium.

Strauss-Kahn was linked to an ongoing investigation into the ring by a

report in the Journal du Dimanche over the weekend that generated

headlines on both sides of the Atlantic. The weekly newspaper claimed,

among other things, that the French politician was one of the ring’s

high-profile clients and that a French police officer was tasked with

escorting its prostitutes from the city of Lille to New York to have

sex with DSK.

While the report did not suggest that Strauss-Kahn was a key figure in

the suspected ring, it did report that he would likely be questioned

by the police.

One of Strauss-Kahn lawyers told the Associated Press that the French

politician has not been contacted by detectives but that he is

nonetheless asking to speak to police “to put an end to these

insinuations and extrapolations.”

Making the story that much more sensational is the fact that the ring

allegedly involves underage girls – although there has been no

suggestion that Strauss-Kahn was involved with any minors.

Britain’s Sky News reports that investigators believe they have

uncovered “a well-connected ring bringing women over the border from

Belgium to have sex with wealthy clients in hotels in Lille.”

According to Reuters, three managers at the luxury Carlton hotel in

Lille have been detained in the past week and the hotel, along with

two others, has been temporarily shuttered during the investigation.
