I disagree. I think the status quo could endure for a long time, as it has in the past. Stated US policy isn't that Iran can't have "nukes," it's that Iran can't have a nuclear weapon. Iran's stated policy is not that they are committed to obtaining a nuclear weapon, but that they are committed to having a peaceful nuclear program. So long as the US and Iran can be confined to their stated policies, there is no necessity of war.
